The original building was a hotel for horse traders in the late 18th century, but for the last 40 years or so it has been a private family home. Its present owners purchased the property in 2006, and after giving it an extensive facelift they re-opened it as a boutique guest house in 2007. An established, recently refurbished, boutique guest house, in an enviable location that benefits from discerning clients and passing trade.

The house incorporates spacious owner's quarters including a living room, bedroom and separate bathroom. There is also scope to renovate the large attic and provide a further two bedrooms.Situated in the perfect location for wine lovers, there is also there is a large, well-established cellar that holds many historical secrets dating back beyond the 1920's.A successful commercial property adjoining the guesthouse provides an attractive additional monthly rental income that supplements the running expenses of the business.

Kitchens: A fully equipped, ground floor kitchen is decked out with a gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, crockery and cutlery, lots of catering equipment and an additional fridge/freezer in the garage.
Bathrooms: All the bathrooms are brand new (in 2007) and decked out to exacting standards, including toilets, showers, washbasins and natural light and ventilation. The en suite in the Chambre Rouge also houses a clawfoot bath. There is an additional WC on the first floor.
Reception Rooms: The dining room features a unique rose marble fireplace and comfortably seats 10 for intimate candlelit dinners and sumptuous breakfasts. (The current owners offer dinner on a request basis, which has proved to be very popular.) Leading off the dining room through French windows is a covered terrace area that is enjoyed extensively in the warmer months of the year. The cellar is currently used for wine storage only, but could easily be developed to make a perfect wine bar type area.
Practicalities: Bedrooms contain tea and coffee making facilities. A laundry in the garage comprises of an industrial Bosch washing machine and separate drier.
Facilities: None on-site, but Castillonnes boasts lakes for fishing and swimming, a swimming pool, 3 tennis courts, cinema, petanque and horse racing. As well as a weekly market (which has taken place every Tuesday since 1259), there are also local events held throughout the year.

There is a covered terrace with a BBQ and tables and chairs. The main suite also has its own cosy balcony complete with table and chairs
