Las Rosas: San Miguel de Salinas, Costa Blanca, Spain

The Costa Blanca is recommended by the World Health Organisation as one of the healthiest places to live in the world due to the micro climate created by the salt lakes. San Miguel de Salinas is situated in an area known as Bega Baja and is surrounded by orange and lemon groves, and is within easy access to the town of Torrevieja, the city of Orihuela and the Orihuela coast.

The town is on the edge of a saltlake from which it gets its name. San Miguel de Salinas is a traditional Spanish town with a popular weekly market and several enjoyable fiestas. It is very flat and family friendly.

The town is inland but is a short drive or bus journey to the long sandy blue flag beaches of this part of the Costa Blanca. In the immediate surroundings of the town are a number of golf courses, bowling greens and other sporting activities.

San Miguel de Salinas has a good selection of Bars and Restaurants covering both international and traditional Spanish cuisine. There is a 24 hour Medical Centre a short walk from the apartment.

Las Rosas has been recently built and furnished to the highest standards and consists living/dining area, three bedrooms 1 double (en-suite) and 2 twin bedrooms, fully fitted kitchen, utility room and family bathroom. There is a roof top pool and sun bathing area with panoramic views to the Salt Lakes. There is a car parking area in the basement of the property and both of these areas are accessible by lift.

Getting There

Alicante Airport is 48 km away (approximately 45mins away) and Murcia San Javier Airport is about 35 km away (25 mins drive away)Both airports are well served by a number of airlines.

Getting Around

The area is well serviced by public transport with a bus stop within 50 metres of the apartment, but hiring a car would be advantageous to fully explore and enjoy the area. Car hire and airport transfers can be arranged locally at very competitive rates.
Shoppers can enjoy the regular weekly market in San Miguel or travel to other markets in the surrounding towns. There are large shopping centres in Orihuela and Torrevieja and the nearby city of Elche is home to Spain’s shoe industry.

There are several waterparks in the area, one in Torrevieja and in Benidorm there are the Terra Mitttica and Terra Natural theme parks. There is a funfair at the seafront in Torrevieja and a smaller one near Playa Flamenca on the Orihuela coast.


Golf

Golf is the fastest growing leisure activity on the Costa Blanca and the apartment is ideally situated for anyone who wishes to enjoy the sport. The three courses nearby are: Villa Martin, Las Ramblas, Campoamor. Each of the courses are complimented by natural ravines, lots of trees and are challenging courses.
