The Gite "les Volets Verts" (the Green Shutters) is situated in the old part of the lovely village of Cesseras tucked into the walls of its chateau. The village is so named because the river Cesse gorge is nearby that makes lovely siteseeing. The holiday house is superbly situated for exploring the wonderfull Minervois countryside, tasting the local wines and discovering the medieval village of Minerve (listed as one of Frances most beautiful villages) with its amazing natural caves in the Cesse gorge. Just a short drive is the cathar castle of Lastours and nearby the amazingly restored medieval city of Carcassonne. Not forgetting the canal du Midi (the last two sites both being world heritage sites).
You enter the house by the old kitchen somewhat preserved to give an idea of past times, there is a washing machine and lots of space for bikes or pushchairs etc. The main part of the house is now upstairs surrounding a lovely sunny terrace. There's the large airy fully equipped kitchen/dinning room which opens onto the terrace (gas cooker, microwave, dish washer, coffee machine, toaster etc ) On the other side of the terrace you have the lounge with TV,DVD,free internet WiFi. Then theres bedroom N°1 with a double bed, the bathroom and a separate toilet. There are two staircases which lead to the other two bedrooms N°2 with 2 single beds and N°3 with a large double bed. Its classed as 3 stars and has about 140m² plenty of space to chill out and unwind.
